History of St Antony's College
Thanks for taking a moment to let us share the rich and engaging ST ANTONY'S COLLEGE success story with you. It is full of tradition and achievement that makes ST ANTONY'S COLLEGE a truly unique and respected Educational Group in Kerala, India. Let us begin with ST ANTONY'S COLLEGE history.
St Antony's was founded in 1980 as the result of the hard and tedious efforts of Mr M A Tomy.He started this institution with just 3 students and today it has flourished into one of the most prestigious parallel college in Kerala..In the same year he married Shiny Tomy of Aluva and they both took the college into the highest altitudes Its role was "to be a centre of advanced study and research in the fields of modern international history,economics and commerce and to provide an atmospehere also for the poor students from all over Kerala study together in close contact with all the members of the college who are specialists in their fields"..
The College opened its doors to its first students in 1980 and received its University Affliation in the same year.
The first principal of the College was Mr M A Tomy a young and indusrious academician who took his Master's in English Literature from St Peter's College, Kolenchery and that too with high marks.He was a active student union leader who held the priciples of the Late EMS high.Mrs Shiny Tomy supported him with a high degree of confidence and played the key role in turning his vision into the centre of excellence that St Antony's has now become.
